The Thing That Almost Touched Us

You didn’t touch it. But it left the shape of your reaching behind.

A translucent cube drifts downward.

Not heavy enough to fall, not light enough to fly.

Three figures look up.

They don’t speak. They don’t move—until they do.

Fingers rise, slowly, reaching toward what seems touchable.

But nothing connects.

Reality fractures: fragments of days, gestures, sidewalks, unremarkable moments. The kind that slip by unnoticed, until they interrupt something we thought was meaningful.

The cube lands.

Softly. Without ceremony.

It never reacts, and yet somehow, it leaves a mark.

This is not a question.

Not a revelation.

Only an encounter—brief, half-imagined, entirely real.
